REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing structural engineering using the Ontario Building Code or National Building Code.
- At a minimum, must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Must be licensed P.Eng. with Professional Engineers Ontario.
- Must have knowledge and experience of the Ontario Building Code and National Building Code.
- Drafting skills (AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, Revit)
- Practical fieldwork competencies: measuring buildings/structures, ladder use, small tool use, surveying (laser level and rod)
- Knowledge of structural design for both Part 3 and Part 9 buildings
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Assertive, self-motivated and show initiative
- Technical report writing
- Competence in MS Office Programs: Word, Excel, etc.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Class “G” driver’s license and vehicle required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completing site investigations to gather field data for projects including measurements, observations, limited destructive investigation
- Completing site inspections during construction
- Preparing structural designs and drawings for Part 3 and Part 9 buildings and other structures.
- Preparing technical reports and site inspection reports
- Assisting in bid and proposal preparation as required.
- Main point of client contact, overall project management
- Occasional travel may be required.
Salary commensurate with experience and subject to review. 3 month probation required.
